COLD AISLE CONTAINMENT
Prism Thermal Containment Solution
Cold Aisle Containment is all about keeping the hot air generated by your servers separate from the cold air generated by your cooling systems.
In essence, the cold aisles are extensions of your floor void. The waste heat is channelled into the room, and from there to your CRAC/CRAH units. This allows 98% of the CRAC/CRAH units cooling capacity to be channelled directly to your servers.

No More Hot-Spots or Temperature Spikes
Cold Aisle Containment limits thermal differential between the top and bottom racks to only 2 – 3 degrees, optimising server reliability at all rack positions.
Improved Performance AND Lower Energy Costs
Because the Cold Aisle system keeps the cold air flowing from your CRAC/CRAH system separate from the hot air vented from your servers, you get a huge efficiency increase. Over 95% of the cooling power is expended directly where you need it most. The hot air from the room can then be drawn back to the cooling system.
The result is lower, more consistent temperatures for your servers. Typically you’ll see no more than a few degrees of difference between the top and bottom racks, and large usage-based temperature fluctuations are all but eliminated. What that really means for you is lower operating costs and more up-time. What more could you need?
